Karen Bennett has recently joined the Nelson Star as an advertising representative. She has been in the community newspaper business in various positions from owner, publisher, editor and sales co-ordinator to circulation manager and ad design over her 17 years in the industry, often with several children in tow. (Nothing sells an ad like a baby on your back!) Bennett has Nelson roots and returned to Nelson with her husband and family in 2007 after many moves around the province. The parents of three teens, she spends a lot of time in the car and volunteering within the community. She is a Rotary club member and plays women's hockey whenever she can.
