Nelson winemaker honoured
Nelson’s Art of Brewing captured some impressive hardware at WineMaker magazine’s international amateur wine competition held in Vermont.
The Railway Street company came away with seven medals — one gold, two silver and four bronze — in a variety of categories for its wines.
The event was the largest wine competition of its kind in the world. The 4,235 entries arrived from hobby winemakers living throughout North America and as far away as Spain, Norway and Israel. Over the course of three days, experienced judging panels worked through 772 flights evaluating appearance, aroma, taste, aftertaste and overall impression.
Nelson’s Art of Brewing has been helping locals make wine for more than 20 years. The shop sells wine kits or helps customers prepare the wines on-site.
Art of Brewing is owned and managed by Maarten and Breg Lammers.
