Slocan Valley Heritage Trail Society hosts special ski day
On January 29, the Slocan Valley Heritage Trail Society will be hosting its eighth annual day on the Trail from noon to 2 p.m.
This popular event started as a way for everyone to discover new scenic locations on the Slocan Valley Rail Trail, but has grown into a friendly social gathering around a toasty bonfire. All winter long, trail society volunteers have been grooming and tracksetting the entire 50 kilometre length of the trail, in anticipation of this day.
This year the event will be found happening 1.5 kilometres north of the Perrys Siding and two kilometres south of the Lemon Creek Trailhead. Both locations can be found off of Highway 6 and watch for the signs.
At the bonfire there will be refreshments, hot dogs and smiles waiting for you. Members of the society will be there to share the latest rail news and to sign up new members.
So why not bring the family and friends and enjoy some quality time in a beautiful location? It’ll be a good time for everyone.
