Prepping for Nelson's chilli cookoff
Santa arrives to Baker Street tonight as part of the Elf Walk in the core of Nelson.
One of the array of activities tonight — starting at 5:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Baker Street — is contest to determine the best chilli of the night. The cook-off is between six local businesses/organizations: Ric’s Lounge and Grill, Save-On Foods, Nelson Toyota, the Salvation Army, 103.5 The Bridge and the Nelson Star. People are invited to try samples of the chili for a donation to the Sally Ann kettle. The chilis will then be judged by a panel and a winner gets bragging rights.
On Thursday night, the Nelson Star received some help from a pair of wise culinary elves at the Prestige Inn (above photo).
