Email sent by Johnsons Landing resident not opened until after landslide
KASLO — Forests and lands minister Steve Thomson has confirmed an email was received from a resident of Johnsons Landing before the landslide there Thursday that is believed to have trapped four people, but it was not opened until half an hour after the slide.
"Tonight we can confirm that an email was received by the ministry on the morning of the slide," read a press release from the Ministry of Forests, Land and Natural Resource Operations. "It is our understanding that the email was not opened until after the landslide occurred."
Last night, officials were questioned about whether they had received an email from a resident of Johnsons Landing prior to the slide.
