Nelson minor caught driving impaired
A Nelson teen had his 2000 Volkswagen Golf impounded for impaired driving last Saturday, July 21.
The 18-year-old was stopped by police just before midnight on Highway 3 through Christina Lake.
According to Grand Forks RCMP, the teen failed a roadside breath test by blowing over 0.08 blood alcohol content.
As a result, he received a 90 day driving prohibition and his car was impounded for 30 days — the maximum administrative penalty available under BC's tough impaired driving legislation.
The officer did not fine the teen for underage drinking.
