Slocan trustee by-election expected November 10
Slocan Valley residents will go to the polls November 10 to pick a new trustee.
The vacancy was created after trustee Barb Lindsay announced she's taking a volunteer post in Zanzibar.
Lindsay, in her second term, was acclaimed last November, and won a three-way race in 2008, replacing longtime trustee Penny Tees.
The Kootenay Lake board of education is expected to officially receive Lindsay's resignation tonight and appoint a returning officer.
Nominations open September 25 and close October 5.
