There's been a rash of high end ATV and snowmobile thefts in the Slocan valley in the past three months.

Nelson RCMP are investigating the string of incidents, which are believed to be related.

"The method of theft at each of the scenes is consistent, which lead police to believe the same suspect(s) are responsible," sergeant Dan Seibel wrote in a notice to media.

Police are urging ATV and snowmobile enthusiasts in the area to lock their machines or park them in a secure location out of sight between use.

Anyone with information about the thefts are encouraged to phone Nelson RCMP at 250-352-2156 or leave your tip anonymously on the Crime Stoppers hotline, 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
