The search for two missing skiers has begun near Whitewater Ski Resort.

Nelson Search and Rescue are and other rescue personnel are currently on scene at the local hill.

At 7:20 p.m. the local search crew received a call about overdue skiers who are believed to have been heading out into the backcountry near the resort. Initial information has teams focussing on the the backside of Ymir peak.

Due to darkness and high avalanche risk in the area, no search was conducted last night. At first light crews were on the scene.
