A Bonnington home burnt down Friday but the blaze was kept from spreading into the surrounding forest and community.

Fire crews from Beasley, Blewett, Crescent Valley, Nelson and the B.C. Wildfire Service, as well as two Wildfire Service helicopters, responded to the fire at 3762 Thompson Road.

Beasley acting fire chief Monica Spencer said the fire appears to have begun in the home.
