The pool was a flurry of activity this morning as the Nelson and District Community Complex reopened its aquatic centre.
After a six-month closure, it opened in time for scheduled August swimming lessons to begin.
The suspended ceiling made up of tiles across t-bar supports is gone. It was part of that system that fell into the pool on January 28 prompting the fix.
Open trusses are covered with an acoustical treatment and painted bright white allowing people using the pool to see to the roof.
An opening ceremony is planned for later this month.
