Allen Thomas Lewis

LEWIS, ALLEN THOMAS It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Allen Lewis on Thursday, April 29th 2010 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Allen was born in Trail, BC on December 23rd 1947 to Thomas and Joan Lewis. At the age of two the family moved to Rossland where he spent his childhood years. As a young boy and into his teens he loved to play hockey and baseball and was an avid member of the 44th Field Engineering Squadron. He was a very active and proud union member of the IBEW Union Local 1003 in Nelson. His biggest passions in life were fishing, driving cars, dancing and his grandchildren. He had very big heart that he shared with so many. He didn’t think twice about making sure someone didn’t go without, especially kids. Allen is survived by his wife of 24 yrs, Jackie, children Bill (Nichole) and granddaughter Ashley, Tom (Christina), Vic (Jana), Christina Wade (Bill) and granddaughters Kathy and Sarah and Mark (Tammy) and grandsons Donavin and Jagger. Sisters: Bev Van Der Zalm (Adrian) and Nieces Jodie Lemieux, Alana Buckingham, Coreena Padgett, Adrianna Milne and their Families; and Christine (Sam Schnall) and Nieces Tara Topolinsky and Darcey Godfrey (Nelster) and their families and special faithful companion BELLA. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas Austin Lewis on May 26th 1995 and Edna Joan Lewis on August 14th 1970. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday May 6th 2010 at 1:00pm at the Rod and Gun Club in Nelson In lieu of flowers, Allen would like donations made to the CT Scanner in Nelson. The family would also like to thank Drs. Malpass and Walker for extraordinary care Allen received. Personal Alternatives Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
