January 23, 1930 – December 30, 2016

Anne Bonderoff passed away peacefully at Mountain Lakes Senior Community.

Anne was born in Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan then moved and lived in Slocan Park, BC with her parents in her early years. After meeting and marrying John Bonderoff in 1950, she moved to Salmo, BC where they lived the remainder of their lives.

John was the love of her life. They were rarely apart and did everything together. They raised three children, built homes, outbuildings, took care of animals, planted huge gardens, fruit trees and everything else for a wonderful life. They were proud of their accomplishments and enjoyed every minute.

In her spare time Anne was accomplished in many crafts such as crocheting, knitting, sewing and quilting. She enjoyed participating in many community events and was also a Home Support person for many years. Anne was an active member of the Salmo Doukhobour Society.

Anne and her sister Mary were inseparable and remained very close all of their lives. They mentored each other, went shopping together, quilted and sewed together, went huckleberry picking (which was a favourite), made food together and so on.

She always made sure all family and guests to their home had “enough to eat” and were always welcome for a meal. Borsht, tarts and pierogis were plentiful and quick to the table.

She was predeceased by her husband John in October 2012 and by her parents Fred and Anne, brothers John and Fred Podovelnikoff and sister Mary Chernoff.

Surviving her are children: Lorne (Lorna), Isabel (Orrick) and Michael (Janice); grandchildren James and Emily Bonderoff, Alicia (Nigel) Martin, Keath (Jamie) Killen; great grandchildren: Lincoln Martin; Hailey Morris and Reegan Killen.

Many thanks to Dr. Janz and the staff at the Mountain Lakes Senior Community for the care given to Anne in her last years.

No service is being held by request. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society of BC in Anne’s name are greatly appreciated.
