Anne Russel passed away peacefully at Marion Hospice in Vancouver after a brief and intense struggle with cancer. Originally from Toronto, Anne was a lifelong artist and photographer,
having shown her work in several exhibits in both Vancouver and Nelson and was a member of the Board of Directors of Gallery Gachet in
Vancouver. She loved the outdoors, camping and hiking and was an active member of the Women’s Outdoor Club and great camping buddy to several
of her friends. Anne enjoyed her Euchre group and games nights at the Rhizome café. She was a kind and conscientious advocate with the Kettle Friendship Society and a former ambulance driver in Winlaw for several years. She returned
to Emily Carr Institute to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and graduated in 2007. She was a wonderfully kind and patient person and will be greatly missed by her coworkers, friends
and family. Memorial to be held at a later date.
Thanks to the kind and caring staff at Marion Hospice who looked after Anne so well.
