Bert Billett

BILLETT: BERT – With heavy hearts the family of Bert Billett announce his passing on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Moosejaw, SK on June 11, 1931. Bert is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Joan; daughters Lori (Mike) Heximer, and Tracey Billett; and the apple of his eyes his granddaughters Holly and Megan Heximer; as well as his grand dog Sparkles. He was employed by the Nelson Daily News for 25 years, retiring in 1996. Besides his family, golf was his passion and supporting his daughters and granddaughters in their many sports and of course, the Blue Jays. Bert and Joan enjoyed travelling and last year was able to attend Bert’s aunt Jean’s 90th birthday party and family reunion in Minnesota. A celebration of Bert’s life will be held at the Best Western Hotel in Nelson on Sunday, July 4, 2010 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Al Grywacheski of Personal Alternative Funeral Services “Carberry’s Chapel” is entrusted with arrangements.
