It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Roy Hickey on March 13, 2016, after fighting an incredibly brave battle with cancer.
Dan was born in Nelson, and spent his entire life there. His many favourite pastimes were fishing on Kootenay Lake, prowling the mountains around Nelson sifting through the old mine sights , and he could find an arrowhead most anywhere he went..
His last summer was spent cruising the highway with his new motorcycle, you could hear him before you saw him! He loved the annual fishing trip to the Island with his buddies, this was definitely on his bucket list.
Daniel loved life and lived it to the fullest. He especially loved his family. He will be missed by his daughters Kyla (Jason) and Colleen; grandchildren Zoe, Ella, and Kobe; his mother, Pat
Hickey, sister Marlene (Randy), brother Darren (Linda), and nieces and nephew, numerous
Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his dad Roy Hickey.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eagles Hall on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2:00.
