In Loving Memory and Celebration of the Life of Joan Alice Rolls July 6, 1929 - May 31, 2010 Joan passed away peacefully in Kaslo, BC at the age of 80 with her family at her side. She will be fondly remembered by her husband, Bill, daughters, Debbie (Rich) and Katelyn, 6 grandchildren: Laurie, Sarah, Melissa, Daniel, Stephen and Rosemary and 1 great-grandchild, Piper. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends alike. Joan was born in Ottawa, graduated from the Univ. of Toronto in English Literature, married Bill in Toronto, lived 40 years in Burlington, Ont and moved to Nelson, BC 8 yrs ago and then to Kaslo 2 years ago. Joan had a great love of people, her artwork, gardening and nature. She had an adventurous spirit and loved travelling, especially to the ocean. She was an active member of many groups and clubs. Special thanks to all the staff at the Slocan Community Health Centre Pavilion in New Denver, and the Residential Facility at the Kaslo Hospital for keeping up the quality and spirit of her life with such loving care and attention. A memorial service will be held at St. Marks Anglican Church in Kaslo on Tues. June 8th at 1:00pm with reception to follow.
