JON H. PACHAL July 30, 1946 - July 4, 2010 It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce Jon's passing on Sunday, July 4th, 2010. Jon faced his cancer with great strength and grace and is now finally at peace following his difficult journey. He will be forever missed by his daughter Jaime, his son Jordan and his devoted partner Judith. Also left to mourn are his favourite neighbours Pauline and her daughter Deb, his brother Terry and sister-in-law Lorraine, brother Michael and sister Linda. He leaves many friends who will miss his wonderfully unique sense of humour and straight forward nature. Jon's beloved cat 'Bartholemew the Magnificent' was the light of his life! Following Jon's retirement in 2001 he shared many enjoyable hours with friends on the golf course. He took pleasure in his motorcycle trips, and was a valued member of Don's pit crew working with Bob on their cherished race car. When asked how he enjoyed retirement Jon always replied "It's the best job I've ever had"!!. Jon was very proud of his service with the Nelson Fire Department and the friendships he developed over the years with the members. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Mountain Lakes for their excellent care and attention to Jon and also to Dr. Walker and Dr. Malpass. Thank you to Rivka of Home and Community Care for her dedication and to the other Health Care providers that assisted Jon. Jon's wishes were that his friends gather at his home to remember the good times and share a glass of wine - "some is good, more is better and too much is just right!".
