LEMUEL EZRA McGINNES 1906 - 2010 Lemuel was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to Mary and James McGinnes on Oct.17,1906 . He died at Mountain Lake Seniors' Community on March 14 , 2010. Growing up with four siblings he had ample opportunity to advance his love of music , learning to play the guitar , banjo and violin. In later life he studied to become a violin maker and created 26 fine instruments. During WWII he enlisted in the US Army as a bandsman and played in bands to entertain the troops all over the US and South Pacific. After the war he studied to become a structural engineer and worked for General Dynamics (Convair) on the Altas Missile Programme. He joined the Lemurian Fellowship in California at that time and this philosophical pursuit continued to be a great inspiration and comfort to him. He moved to Nelson in 1984 and has resided here since then. He continued with his musical interests, including composition , and played for many years at Broader Horizons and Jubilee Manor. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings and his two wives, Helen and Doris. He is survived by two nephews, Bill and Jack, who reside in California; his stepdaughters Edith (Tex) Mowatt ; Carole (Fred) Bartholomae; Sandra (Rob) Carmen; his stepson Ronald Monty ,and all of their extended families. The family wishes to thank Dr. Noiles; Dr. Kelly; The Nursing and Care Staff at Nelson Jubilee Manor/Place , Kootenay Lake Hospital and Mountain Lake Seniors' Community for the wonderful care he received over the years. There will be no Memorial Service. Memorial Donations may be made to Nelson Jubilee Manor / Place Foundation at 500 West Beasley Street, Nelson, B.C. V1L6G9.
