Polly Dergousoff

November 30, 2010

At the age of 87 our precious mother passed away on November 30, 2010, surrounded by her family, at Mountain Lakes Seniors Community. Polly Dergousoff (nee Wlasoff) was born on a small farm in Grand Forks, BC on March 5, 1923. She instilled strong Doukobour values in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Polly loved to be surrounded by family who, in return, appreciated her skills in the kitchen. She had a passion for growing flowers and vegetables, sewing, quilting, knitting and crocheting. Polly will be missed by her loving sons Alec (Cathy) of Nelson and Jim (Elaine) of Salmon Arm, by her cherished grandchildren Donna (Jim) Pipe of Houston, Texas, Dale (Tracy) Degrousoff of Prince George, Chris (Jodi) Dergousoff of Nelson, Maury (Lorena) Dergousoff of Toronto, Scott Dergousoff of Salmon Arm, and Monica (Brent) Hoffort of Salmon Arm, by her younger sisters Nettie (Alex) Jmaeff of Castlegar and Luba (Dennis) Denby of Kamloops, her sister-in-law Lorraine Wlasoff of Grand Forks and her nieces, nephews and friends. Polly considered herself very fortunate to have 14 great grandchildren. Polly was predeceased by her father George Wlasoff, her mother Winny Wlasoff, her brother Walter Wlasoff, and her husband Alex. Polly will be greatly missed and forever in our memories. The family wishes to thank the thoughtful and caring staff at Mountain Lakes Seniors Community for the support she received throughout her stay.
