HUGS AND SLUGS: Idling vehicles, marijuana and snow removal
SLUGS to people who use Kokanee Creek Park who sit in their idling vehicles for extended periods of time. Get out and enjoy the outdoors! And to the people that drive up Kokanee Glacier road and get firewood: you are still in park boundaries and there are signs that tell you where you can and cannot get firewood.
HUGS to the woman who stopped to help me dig out my little car from the pile of slippery, piled up snow at the end of my back lane. I was digging myself out when she stopped and took the shovel from me and dug until I could get through the muck to the street.
SLUGS to people who think that marijuana is how most people in Nelson made money. Most of us worked at honourable jobs to make our livelihood. Nelson is much more than marijuana.
HUGS to the good folk both uniformed and passersby who helped me after I made an unexpected trip to the Grohman pond on Dec. 29 in my car due to icy roads. Heroes and heroines one and all.
SLUGS to the public education system for not teaching our children how to write. The iPod is the greatest piece of spyware ever developed and because of their digital imprint the secret service will know everything.
HUGS to my wonderful co-workers.
SLUGS to all the dangerous drivers out there. Drive safe this year. There have been too many deaths this winter.
HUGS to all the amazing bus drivers for driving safe this season.
