Re: “Liberals and NDP continue deceptive fundraising” (Letters, April 14)

I find it disingenuous that the Green Party is trying to claim the moral high ground by not accepting corporate or union donations. It is easy to say you are not going to take something you are not receiving in the first place.

In 2015 the B.C. Green Party reported $394,310 in total donations. Three per cent of that total was from corporations, 97 per cent from individuals and none from unions. In contrast, the B.C. Liberals reported $9.9 million in donations, 52 per cent from corporations, and less than 1 per cent from unions. The NDP reported $3.05 million in donations, four per cent from corporations, 81 per cent from individuals and 12 per cent from unions.

In January this year the NDP introduced a bill to end corporate and union donations, for the sixth time.
