LETTER: Kids should walk out

I’m concerned about my child’s education. In an effort to curb the coronavirus, the top minds in the field have decided that in high school the students will stay with a learning group for a whole day. So that means if you are in Physics 11, you will be doing Physics 11 all day, everyday for five weeks straight. Can you imagine!? Learning new concepts all day long, without your brain getting a break? Yes, they will get breaks, but teacher feel the pressure too, as there is curriculum they must cover. Teachers are not happy about this.

My daughter’s friend said her friend is just not going to go. Then she said she’s just going to walk out. She said a lot of kids should just walk out. I said I would support her if she organized a walk out. What else can they do?

I would not want to be in the position of these young adults at this time. Would you?

I suggest the administration takes a look at Vancouver’s school board and at least have one other subject, so that the students will get the needed brain break.

As one other parent commented to me in the grocery store, is the preventative measures worse than the virus?
