Bronze for Wildcats
The West Kootenay Bantam Wildcats returned from Kelowna this week with a BC Hockey provincial bronze medal.
The regional female team — which includes Nelson’s Jena Wheeldon, Jesse Cooper and Emma Hare — lost their semi-final game to a powerful North Shore Winter Club team 3-0 on Tuesday afternoon. The girls rallied in the bronze medal game and beat Prince George 3-1 to claim the medal.
The Winter Club won the gold medal with a 4-1 win over Richmond.
