Locals dominate the Kramp

Great results for Nelson schools at last week’s Kootenay Kramp hosted by L.V. Rogers with cross-country runners taking home first in all four categories.

In the junior boys category Kieran Marchand of Trafalgar Middle School crossed the line first with a time of 22:07. Ezra Fox of Trafalgar was seconds behind at third with a time of 22:11.

In the junior girls category, Maya Ida of Trafalgar won the race in a time of 22:20. Anika Nykanen of Nelson’s Self-Design school was third with a time of 27:24.

In the senior boys category, Trafalgar Grade 8 student Micah May edged out LVR’s Shawn DeGroot by five seconds, crossing the line at 37:35. Peter Locke of LVR came in third.

In the senior girls category LVR’s Andrea Stinson easily captured first with a time of 30:07.

The next cross-country race is today in Salmo.
