Mount Sentinel off to a solid start at volleyball provincials

The Mount Sentinel Wildcats won their first game of the BC High School Volleyball Single-A Female Provincial Championships on Thursday afternoon.

The South Slocan high school is host of the provincials which are being played at Castlegar's Selkirk College gym and Nelson's L.V. Rogers gym.

In the Wildcats opening game they topped Credo Christian to open the round robin portion of the tournament. Games continue all afternoon with playoffs starting Friday.

Mount Sentinel is ranked third in the province coming into the tournament. Salmo Secondary is also in the tournament and ranked 16th.

The gold medal match is scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Castlegar Selkirk College gymnasium.
