A little cuteness, add a dash of fun and serve over ice

It was a family weekend at the Nelson and District Community Complex as 170 Novice hockey players took to the ice. Off the ice, kids munched on popcorn, coloured in a corner and bounced in folding chairs, while junior and senior level games took centre stage. Midday Saturday, the Nelson Chargers took on the Spokane Jrs., the Nelson Leafs played the Beaver Valley Blackhawks, and the Nelson Ice Knights faced off against the Spokane Chiefs. Kids from around the region proved that a little player can really get a big cheer.
