The KIJHL hockey season has come to an end for the Nelson Leafs - for now.

The local squad fell 6-2 tonight in Fruitvale against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks. The win gives the Nitehawks a four games to two series victory over Nelson.

While officially eliminated from playoff play, the Leafs season isn't over. As the host squad of this year's Cyclone Taylor Cup, the Leafs will still compete in the BC Junior B hockey Championships set for April 9-13.

But the squad now hads to wait for all the provincial playoffs to finish before seeing any real game action.

Travis Wellman (from Linden Horswill and Patrick Croome) and Troy Petrick (from Croome) were the goal scorers for the Leafs on Friday night.
