Dryden Hunt to play in AHL

The Nelson native was sent to Springfield during the Florida Panthers’ training camp

Dryden Hunt will begin the hockey season in the AHL.

The Nelson native was sent down to the Springfield Thunderbirds on Monday during the Florida Panthers’ training camp.

Hunt spent all of last season with the Thunderbirds, scoring 13 goals and adding 18 assists in 70 games.

The 21-year-old signed an entry-level contract with the Panthers in March 2016 during his final WHL season in which he was named the league’s player of the year with the Moose Jaw Warriors.
