Sawyer Hunt scored in double overtime as the Nelson Leafs edged the Border Bruins 3-2 on Friday in Grand Forks.
Jack Karran and Ryan Cooper also scored for the Leafs (5-1-1), who have now won three in a row. Josh Williams got the start in net and finished with 23 saves.
Rilee Poffenroth had both goals for the Border Bruins (5-2-1), while goaltender Knute Loe was sensational in the loss with 52 saves.
The win moved Nelson into a tie with Grand Forks atop the Neil Murdoch Division. The Leafs host the Creston Valley Thunder Cats on Saturday night.
