Michael LeNoury scored late in the third period but the Nelson Leafs couldn’t complete the comeback with a 2-1 loss to the Kimberley Dynamiters at home Saturday.

Cam Russell and Brock Palmer each had a goal for the Dynamiters (2-0-0), who got strong goaltending from Broc Merkl with 33 saves.

Quinn Yeager meanwhile made 21 saves in his debut with the Leafs (1-1-0).

Nelson next plays Friday at home to the Fernie Ghostriders before hosting the Columbia Valley Rockies on Saturday.
