Matti Erickson will compete in three events at the provincial high school track and field championships next month.

The Trafalgar runner won the 800, 1,500 and 3,000-metre events at the zone qualifier in Cranbrook last week. That means he’ll be in all three events for provincials, which are held June 2 to 4 in Langley.

Erickson will be joined by several other local athletes.

Avie Waterfall of Trafalgar qualified in the girls 800 by winning the event and placed second in the 400.

L.V. Rogers athlete Anna Milde won the senior girls 100 hurdles, placed second in the 100 and third in the 200. Her LVR teammate Bethany Pardoe meanwhile won the junior girls 400 and placed second in the 800.

Zoe Taylor of Wildflower placed third in the girls 1,500.
