Nelson Brewers win silver in Beaver Valley

Just one run made the difference as the Nelson Brewers had to settle for silver at the West Kootenay Minor Playoffs last weekend.

The Brewers fell 5-4 to the host Beaver Valley Blue Jays in Sunday’s final. The Brewers had previously hammered Grand Forks 15-4 on Friday before rolling past the Castlegar Royals 13-8 and Trail Mariners 9-2 on Saturday.

They downed the Nelson Pirates 11-4 on Sunday then defeated the Trail Dodgers 7-2 in the semi en route to the final of the 15-team tournament.
