Nelson’s Ian Walgren had two wins and four personal bests at a Special Olympics speedskating meet in Port Coquitlam on Feb. 3.
Walgren finished first in the 333-metre race with a time of 47.95 seconds, followed by another victory in the 777 race in which he was three quarters of a lap ahead of his closest competitor at 1:53.11.
He also finished second in the 222 event in 33.64 seconds, and fourth place in the 500.
Walgren, a member of the West Kootenay Speed Skating Club, next heads to Richmond for the Special Olympic regional trials on March 10.
