Two Nelson athletes have been recognized at the provincial level.
Paddler Heather Potkins and weightlifter Jayden Wouters were each named to their respective BC teams.
Potkins, who competes with the Nelson Canoe and Kayak Club, was one of 40 paddlers selected. Her inclusion means she'll be offered additional training opportunities as an athlete Canoe Kayak BC believes could one day compete at nationals.
Wouters, who lifts at Power By You, was chosen to represent BC at the Canadian Junior Weightlifting Championships, Jan. 14 in Brossard, Que.
