Nelson Star publisher Chuck Bennett is taking the reins of the Nelson and District Chamber of Commerce.

Bennett was elected to a two-year term as chamber president last Thursday at the organization’s annual general meeting. He replaces outgoing president and Nelson Toyota owner Cal Renwick, who will continue to sit on the board as past president.

The chamber’s board of directors also picked up two new members: Clive Jackson of Jackson’s Hole and Tanya Finley of Finley’s Irish Bar and Grill.

Also reelected to their posts were Harry Davidson of Glass House Optical, Selkirk College communications director Barry Auliffe, John Knox of Nelson Realty, and Justin Pelant from Ted Allen’s Jewellery.
