The big winner in this year’s Nelson Star Christmas Shopping Spree was Don Takala. He entered at Cottonwood Kitchens, just one of many downtown businesses participating in this annual event. Takala went to a number of businesses to spend his $2,015 in winnings, including Valhalla Pure, Cottonwood Kitchens, Mallard’s, Ripping Giraffe, Ted Allen’s Jewellery, Packrat Annie’s, ROAM and Kootenai Moon.
