Maglio Building Centre sold to RONA affiliate

The stores in Nelson and Trail will remain open

A Nelson business that has operated for over 40 years has been sold.

Maglio Building Centre has changed hands to Fraser Valley Building Supplies, which is an affiliated dealer of RONA.

The deal will keep both Maglio, locations, in Nelson and Trail respectively, open under the RONA name, according to a statement from the company released Thursday.

The statement added both stores will be renovated and add five to 10 permanent jobs at each location.

Maglio has operated since 1977. Former owner Tony Maglio, who ran the business with his brother Dominic and Russ Beauchamp, said in the statement he’s looking forward to working with Fraser Valley Building Supplies president Ray Cyr.

“We are glad to have found a partner we can trust to take over our family’s business and ensure its long-term success and growth,” said Maglio.

“Ray and his associates are committed entrepreneurs who have a clear vision for the future of their company. I know they will bring outstanding service and value to our community, and I look forward to working with them to ensure a successful transition.”
