Sales up, but Nelson’s Pacific Insight records Q2 loss

Pacific Insight has released its second quarter earnings statement.

Pacific Insight is reporting a net loss in its second quarter ending December 31, despite a 14 per cent increase in sales over the same period the previous year.

The electronics manufacturer, which has headquarters just outside Nelson, made $9.26 million in sales compared to $8.12 million during its second quarter of 2010.

Sales for the last six months of 2011 were $17.67 million, a 10 per cent increase over the $16 million achieved during that span of 2010.

In a news release, the company says it had a net loss of $8,000 in the second quarter compared to a net loss of $166,000 the previous year.

Year to date results show a loss of $439,000 or seven cents per share, compared to a loss of $39,000 or one cent per share in the six months ending December 31, 2010.

Pacific Insight makes products for the automotive, commercial, and specialty markets, and is one of the region's largest employers.
