Becoming a parent has always been a major life rite of passage. Our societal roles of masculinity are changing and dads are becoming more actively engaged in both childbirth and parenting.

The Kootenay Perinatal Support Society (KPSS) is offering a free drop-in resource and support group for dads-to-be, new dads and birth partners, facilitated by family counsellor Gabriel Keczan.

The drop-in happens at Apple Tree Maternity, 518 Lake St. from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays: Oct 4, Oct 18, Nov 1, Nov 15, Nov 29, and Dec 13. It will continue twice each month from January to October of next year.

Apple Tree Maternity is a collaborative organization of midwives and family physicians providing pregnancy, birth and newborn care.
