A Bonnington photographer's work has received national acclaim.

Kathryn Gardner had four images selected by the Professional Photographers of Canada for its nationwide image competition. The photos were included at the annual Canadian Imaging expo last month in Ottawa.

"We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Kathryn for a remarkable achievement," said Jay Terry, chair of the National Exhibition Committee, in a statement. "We are immensely grateful to all participants who shared their creativity and passion with us, making this year's competition a resounding success. For those seeking to elevate their visual storytelling and make a lasting impression, professional photographers are not just an option – they're a necessity."

Gardner's photos include a portrait of a young woman with a guitar, a composite of a girl and a snail, a portrait of a snow monkey family, and a landscape shot of Kluane National Park and Reserve in Yukon.

“Entering competitions encourages me to continually hone my photography skills and push my boundaries," said Gardner in a statement. "Even if my images are not accepted, the judges provide invaluable feedback to improve my craft. I am so excited that this year I had four images accepted into the salon.”
