The local Canada Post office is joining in on a campaign to raise money for children’s charities across the nation.

Last week the crown corporation launched a new stamp that will raise money for its Community Foundation for Children. The stamp is expected to raise $2 million for a number of children’s charities and school programs across the country.

On Thursday, the staff at the local post office will help with this campaign by holding a barbecue to raise money for the charity and awareness of the new stamp. The barbecue will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the main post office at 514 Vernon Street.
