Nelson Star editor Kevin Mills delivering the Friday

Carrier appreciation day

The Nelson Star has more than 85 newspaper carriers who deliver the paper twice per week no matter the weather.

There’s no time like the present to thank your newspaper carrier. To recognize today’s newspaper carrier appreciation day, Nelson Star publisher Karen Bennett and editor Kevin Mills walked the downtown route delivering newspapers to Baker Street businesses in Nelson.

The bi-weekly local newspaper is delivered every Wednesday and Friday to residents and businesses in the Nelson area by more than 85 carriers who brave the hot sun in summer, the wet weather in the spring and fall and the snowy likes of winter all on the steep streets of Nelson.
