The third annual Columbia Basin Culture Tour took place over the weekend with dozens of galleries and museums throughout the region taking part. In Nelson there were 12 stops on the tour including sQmerrit Ceramics on Carbonate Street. Shannon Merritt opened up her backyard studio — which is located in an Airstream trailer — which saw steady traffic over Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday afternoon Quinn, 9, and Calvin, 4, VanderHorst watched as Merritt painted one of her porcelain pieces.
