The Nelson Council of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada is hosting the 75th annual Nelson Diocesan Convention from May 4 to 7 at the Hume Hotel.
A total of 110 women from 28 councils in the West and East Kootenay, North and South Okanagan, Invermere and Golden are registered for the event.
The theme for the convention is Serving with Respect and Compassion.
The Nelson Council of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada received its charter 77 years ago in February 1933.
Currently the council has a membership of 108 Catholic women.
Though various fundraisers the council supports many local and national charities.
