John Thwaites and Mary Lou Anctil of Daybreak Rotary served up hot soup on a cold autumn Saturday during Community Connect.

A smile and a hot bowl of soup were only the start of what was on offer at the ninth annual Community Connect.

The event, hosted by the Nelson Committee on Homelessness, brought together over 20 organizations donating their services for free on Saturday.

Hair cuts, dental checkups, winter clothing and financial advice were just some of what was available in the packed Central School gym.
