Consider sharing your extra shoes

It’s estimated that Canadians have three or four pairs of shoes in their closet that they don’t wear and are still in good shape. Soles4souls Canada is looking to put those shoes to good use. On Wednesday, Nelson Rotarians started to package up shoes which have been collected locally for the last couple weeks. The shoes are destined for Japan, where they will help those picking up the pieces from the earthquake and tsunami. They are still collecting the shoes until April 30. If you have shoes in good condition that you want to donate, drop them off at the following local businesses: DeVito’s Shoe Repair, Valhalla Pure, Save-On- Foods, Cydney’s, Shoes for the Soul, Hume Hotel, Snowpack, Gaia Rising, Mark’s Work Wearhouse, Streetclothes Named Desire, Royal Bank, and Nelson and District Credit Union.
