Our beer is good and our town is historic.

That’s what Expedia thinks anyway of Nelson. The travel website released two lists that placed Nelson as the second most charming historic town in Canada, as well as the 11th best beer town in Canada.

“When it comes to charming historic towns, Nelson’s strong art scene connects it to the past, while providing inspiration for the next generation of artists. From mining silver in years past to creating colourful paintings of today, Nelson is a town that’s always had a strong sense of beauty and history,” wrote Jennifer Cuellar.

As for the local beer scene, Backroads Brewing, Nelson Brewing Company and Torchlight Brewing were each credited with giving Nelson a sudsy advantage.

Trinity, N.L., was Expedia’s top historic town, with Vancouver coming in at No. 1 on the beer list.
