The Rotary Club of Nelson is getting a jump on Family Day with a three-hour event at Granite Pointe Golf Course on Sunday, February 11.
There will be many outdoor winter activities and games including horse-drawn sleigh rides, sledding, snowshoeing, snow painting, and snowmobile rides to the top of the hill, which takes place from 12 noon until 3 p.m.
Attendees are urged to bring a favourite sled, toboggan, sliding carpet or snow shoes.
Barbecued hot dogs, hot chocolate, home made cookies, and coffee for the adults will be served free of charge. There will also be a few surprises too!
Those who want to stay indoors can enjoy supervised crafts inside the golf course clubhouse.
All supplies for crafts and games will be provided. The club points out that it is a family event and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
The Rotary Club is hosting this first ever annual event to thank the community for supporting their numerous fundraising activities such as Corks & Canvas paint nights.
In addition, Rotary also thanks sponsors Granite Pointe Golf Club, Nelson Ford, and Save On Foods.
