Fun and games at the library

What could be more fun than an evening of board games with family and friends?

What could be more fun than an evening of board games with family and friends?

The Nelson Municipal Library is the place to be for two great evenings of gaming fun.

In partnership with the Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy and Secret Garden Toys, next Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. will be Family Games Night.

Kids aged six to ten with their parents can enjoy loads of board, card, dice and pencil and paper games.

Turn off the TV and meet new friends. A variety of games will be available — new as well as old favourites. Circle the room and try them all. Make a game to take home too and enjoy a snack.

Pre-register for this event by calling 250-352-8259 or email Joanne at jharris@nelson.ca

Teens “go retro” with board games on Friday, January 28 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The library has old favourites and some new games too. Try your hand at dice, card or board games.

Secret Garden Toys is helping with this evening by loaning lots of great games.

What about “speed gaming”? Play a game for 10 minutes, then move on to the next.

This event gives kids age 12 and up a chance to come in and check out our newly renovated TeenScene space.

They’ll have snacks and a giant box of books for the first annual book swap! Everyone goes home with a free book.

Bring a favourite game, a friend and a book to swap.
